My previous life was a life of "arrival." I operated from lack. I always thought I needed more.
More money, more platform, more growth, more assets, more knowledge, etc. I was not satiated, and only saw what I didn't have.
The result? Striving, fear, insecurity, anxiety, self-reliance-just to name a few.
That mentality keeps us on the treadmill of death.
Here's the shift, redefining abundance and meditating on that...
What if abundance isn't what you think it is?
I used to think abundance meant having enough money never to worry again, and having enough assets to feel secure. Having enough success that people would finally respect me.
But here's what I discovered after losing most of it: First, abundance starts with an internal state and mindset.
True abundance isn't about accumulation—it's about recognition.
Let me explain what I mean.
Right now, as you're reading this, you have abundance. You can read (that's abundance). You have a device to read this on (abundance). You have shelter, food, and probably more opportunities than 99% of humans who have ever lived.
Yet we focus on what we don't have.
Our culture programs us to see lack everywhere:
Your house isn't big enough
Your business isn't growing fast enough
Your bank account isn't large enough
You're not successful enough
Sound familiar?
This programming keeps us running on the hamster wheel, chasing the next thing that will finally make us feel "enough."
I ran that race for years. Multiple 8-figure businesses, private jets, mansion... and I still felt behind.
Here's what changed everything for me:
Abundance = Having more than you need right now.
That's it. Simple, not easy.
Do you have food today? Abundance. Do you have shelter? Abundance. Do you have people who love you? Massive abundance. Do you have skills that can serve others? Jackpot.
Everything changed when I shifted my focus from what I lacked to what I already had.
Start asking this daily: "What do I have today that I didn't ask for but received anyway?"
The air I breathe.
The fact that my heart is beating.
The family around my table.
The ability to create and contribute.
This isn't some woo-woo gratitude practice (though gratitude is powerful). This is seeing your current reality.
When you operate from abundance:
You give instead of take
You create instead of compete
You rest instead of strive
You serve instead of sell
You trust instead of control
When you operate from lack:
You hoard instead of share
You worry instead of trust
You force instead of flow
You compare instead of create
You take instead of give
This shift changes how you do business:
Instead of "How can I get more clients?" you ask, "How can I better serve the clients I have?"
Instead of "How can I make more money?" you ask, "How can I create more value?"
Instead of "What do I need to achieve?" you ask, "What do I get to contribute?"
The paradox? When you operate from abundance, you often end up with more of everything—but you don't need it to feel complete.
For the next week, try this:
Every time you catch yourself thinking "I need..." immediately follow it with "I already have..."
"I need more money" becomes "I already have enough for today."
"I need more success" becomes "I already have the ability to contribute."
"I need more time" becomes "I already have this present moment."
Watch how it shifts your internal state. And pay attention to how differently you show up in your business and relationships.
You already have enough. You always have. The question isn't whether you have abundance—it's whether you can see it.
When you can see it, you can operate from it. And when you operate from abundance, you become a source of it for others.
That's when business—and life—gets really good.
Much love,
Chris
P.S. - The richest person isn't the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least. I learned this the hard way, but you don't have to.
